All workplaces make use of some sort of Display Screen Equipment. Display Screen Equipment, sometimes referred to as DSE, is any device, or piece of equipment that has an alphanumeric or graphic display screen.
Equipment categorized as display screen equipment include:
Tasks requiring prolonged use of display screen equipment can present real hazards to users. Use of that equipment requires proper management to control the hazards and reduce the risks to DSE users.
This program aims to raise awareness of DSE issues in the workplace. By paying close attention to the requirements of the job and the design of the workplace, the threat to individuals’ health and safety at work can be made as small, and the workplace experience made as comfortable, as possible.

Our ability to hear is important to us in many ways. By far the most important aspect of our hearing is the ability it gives us to hear other people speak. It enables us to interact with people, to listen, to learn, and to easily communicate.
This program covers:
Poor hearing can dramatically change your lifestyle. It can lead to misunderstandings and give other people an impression of rudeness or even a lack of intelligence. It can make you more vulnerable to accidents and injuries, limit employment opportunities and lead to social isolation.
The objective of this program is to explain the major hazard areas associated with noise and to increase awareness of noise issues in the workplace.
‘Noise Induced Hearing Loss’ strongly reinforces the fact that once hearing is damaged, it cannot be repaired. However the program also reinforces that Noise Induced Hearing Loss is preventable.

Electric Arc Welding is a vital industrial process which makes it possible for us to fuse two separate pieces of metal together into one solid mass. The principle is the same as when you take the exposed wires from the positive and negative terminals of a fully charged battery and touch them together, and we all know what happens then: A Spark.
In Arc Welding, this ‘spark’ between oppositely charged poles is maintained, and becomes an ‘electric arc’ which generates tremendous heat: Up to 6,000°C at the point of contact between the poles.
This raises the temperature of the metals to the point at which welding can occur.
The program shows correct and safe techniques as well as equipment knowledge and includes:
Striking the Arc
Correct procedures for a variety of Welds including:
